Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Limited KS&EW are a Pakistan Government Defense Contractor and Military Corporation located in West Warf, Karachi, Sindh.
KSEW Limited is Pakistan’s oldest and only shipyard, providing shipbuilding, ship repair, and general heavy engineering equipment. It has built various freighters, tankers, tugboats, support vessels, landing craft, ships, and submarines for the Pakistan Navy.
It also builds and repairs for a wide range of clients in Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, Karachi Port Trust, Port Qasim Authority, and the private sector in Pakistan. All shares of the company are owned by the Government of Pakistan, which is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defense.
It was established in the mid-1950s as a project of the Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) and was later incorporated in 1957 as a joint-stock company with its board of directors and CEO.
It is equipped with a large shipbuilding hall, three-block fabrication areas, three shipbuilding berths, two dry docks, a machine shop, shot blasting and painting facility, a 7,881-ton capacity ship lift, a transfer system, and 13 parking lots. seasons
