Babar Azam was the captain in the first match of the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup. Tareen became the first player to score 2000 runs, before this record was held by India’s Virat Kohli, Pakistan captain Babar Azam achieved this milestone in 31 innings. It was completed within 36 innings.

If we look at the record, the milestone of 2000 runs as a captain was achieved by AB de Villiers of South Africa with 41, Michael Clarke with 47, Mahindra Singh Dhoni of India, and Morgan of the English team in forty-eight innings.
