Shan Masood scored a century against PM XI
Captain Shan Masood is not out after playing an innings of 156 runs. Sarfraz Ahmed scored 41 runs, and Babar Azam scored 40 runs.
At the end of the first day of the four-day match between Pakistan and the Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra, Pakistan scored 324 runs for the loss of six wickets. Pakistan captain Shan Masood won the toss and decided to bat first in the match played at the Manuka Oval Ground in Canberra. On behalf of Pakistan, Abdullah Shafiq and Imamul Haq opened the innings, but Imamul Haq scored nine runs and was trapped behind the Buckingham wickets.
Abdullah Shafiq was also a victim of stiffness by scoring 38 runs, while Babar Azam was also a victim of Buckingham after scoring 40 runs, and Saud Shakeel was out after scoring 13 runs in 35 balls. In the last session of the day, Sarfaraz was dismissed by Jordan Buckingham after scoring 41 runs on 46 balls.
Pakistan finished the day with 324 for 6, and Shaun Masood scored 156 off 235 balls.
Unfortunately, Faheem Ashraf got out with the last ball of the day after scoring 17 runs. However, Pakistan showed a balanced performance and overcame early setbacks to create an interesting scenario on the second day. Pakistan will look to consolidate their position and add more to their first-inning total. The team aims to capitalize on the strong foundation established from day one. Meanwhile, the opposition will try to make progress and prevent Pakistan from achieving big results.
