T20 World Cup team likely to undergo more changes: Shahid Afridi

The reason for the selection of 2 or 3 players in the World Cup squad is not understood, it is possible to change players in special or unusual circumstances: Former captain

Former Lahore Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has made a bold statement claiming that other cricket nations should not follow in India’s footsteps and make the mistake of straining relations with Pakistan and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB ). Some changes can be made in Pakistan’s World Cup Squad. In an interview, Shahid Afridi regretted the cancellation of his recent visit to New Zealand and said that he had “seriously damaged” Pakistan’s reputation.

“We all know there is a lot of scrutinies when it comes to organizing tours,” he said. The security members of the visiting country carry out the corresponding investigations. Afridi said the routes are explained and then the teams are given the green signal to tour the country.

Afridi said New Zealand’s decision to cancel the series unilaterally was wrong and should not be tolerated.

He said that New Zealand cricketers are loved in Pakistan and it is unforgivable that they do so. If there was a potential threat, they should have shared it with the PCB and waited for the Pakistani security forces to take stock of the situation. Commenting on the report, Shahid Afridi said that the false threat started in India and was a tactic to smear Pakistan.

“If we look at the big picture, we can all see who is behind this agenda,” he said. Not much attention should be paid to these fake emails and educated countries should stay away from the conflict between Pakistan and India and make their own decisions. Shahid Afridi, 44, added that the ICC has a great responsibility to solve these problems and make a solid decision.

He said the governing body should not remain silent as Pakistan faced difficulties and teams kept canceling their tours without any evidence or results. Some sectors have suggested that Pakistan should boycott its match against New Zealand in the T20 World Cup, but Afridi disagreed. “We must respond to our criticism by winning our performances and matches, we must make sure we play our best against the Kiwis in the World Cup,” he said.

Shahid Afridi says the reason for selecting 2 or 3 players in the World Cup team is not understandable, it is also not understood how we can remove one or two important cricketers from the team, reports are being received that the team of Pakistan can make some changes, it is possible to change the players in special or unusual situations, I will fully support the green jerseys in the mega event regardless of shortcomings in the selection.
